    Hi all,
I am 22 years college girl and living in hostel. I have problems with underarm odor and the only remedy is taking a shower with good water pressure. Is there any another option that can be removed my underarms odor? Your advice will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Kristila,

    Welcome to the forum :)

First of all I would suggest a visit to your doctor to check that you don't have a medical problem that is causing this. You very likely don't but it's better to be safe than sorry.

You could try TeaTree Oil which you can buy very easily. Add this to your bath water or dilute it in water and wipe the skin under your arms twice a day and see if that helps.

I'm sure other people will jump in here with some advice for you. :)

    Regards,

Ok, I have to ask the obvious "stupid" question. This is only the second time I have ever heard of good water pressure being a remedy to body odors (both times from a post here). So my question is......................

What good would simply "good water pressure" possibly do without the addition of SOAP?????? Don't you need soap to wash with?

So let's say you've used soap, and the odor keeps coming back soon after bathing/showering, switch to an anti-bacterial soap as well as an antiperspirant. The anti-bacterial soap is important because body odors can be due to bacteria feeding on secreted sweat. If that doesn't do the trick, you must get yourself to a doctor as fast as you can. Body odors can also be indicative of an infection or disease. Only a doctor can tell you what is causing your odor and if your not ill, can prescribe prescription antiperspirant to help you.

    Good luck!

Another thing I have heard is a mild hydrogen peroxide rinse is supposed to help. Underarm odor can also be caused by toxins and stress... so it sounds like a spa day with a steam room might be in order hehe...
