    Hello Ladies.....and Gents,

The cold weather is starting and already my skin is starting to feel dry and itchy. (pout) What are you favorite products or tricks for keeping your skin soft in the winter months?

One moisturizer I like, but it's for very dry skin, is called Amlactin. There's no pretty packaging or scent, but it works great for severe skin. There's also Lac-hydrin, which is similar, but not as strong.

My hands get very dry in the winter too so I use a cream called "Neutrogena" - it's what the Arctic fishermen use to protect their skin from the extreme cold. Incredible stuff

    Hi TJR!

If your skin is as dry as mine, you should give the Amlactin a try if it's available in the UK. I'm sure you could order it online. It's a heavy moisturizer with a mild acid (like alphahydrox) That helps eliminate the dry, rough skin.

Is the hydrocortisone to help with the itchiness?

Hi Lynne.....I didn't see this message until now. Can't see the forrest for the trees! LOL

We have Neutrogena here and they have an entire line of products, but I've never been happy with them. I'm wondering if it's different than what you use.

I've never heard of that one. I'll have to look for it. Hopefully the weather will be warmer soon and everyone's skin will be softer and itch-free!:AnimatedOrangeSlice

i used to get itchy legs and feet in my old job with standing all day and found that any cream with peppermint in it took the itch away and cooled my skin very quickly

Good catch Troi, I used to sell Mary Kay cosmetics and they had a mint energizing foot and leg cream to not only soften, but to revigorate.
